.....Birmingham St George`s on the league`s official website for fear of saying
something that might be deemed `politically incorrect!
I will say a few more things here!
was simply a dreadful game on an awful pitch.
the boys had to get changed in a computer school classroom!
despite the email confirming the game saying they would be in red, they turned
up on the pitch late - no warm-up - and with the same shirts, shorts and socks
I had a set of red shirts in my car!
pitch itself was awful - and that’s being kind! There are some referees who
wouldn’t have played it as it had big rocks in the centre circle!
dug one out which was the size of a cricket ball!!
was impossible to play proper football on a ploughed field but we won easily 7-3
so this is no sour grapes reporting.
of my players were threatened with being ‘knifed’ after the game and their coach
- if that’s what he was - threatened my linesman/parent!
are an embarrassment to a good league - to travel that far on a Saturday
morning and be presented with all that - and no food - was awful.
only upside of it is that we’ll not have to go there again and the four goals
for Max Wynne, a welcome goal for Spencer Taylor after his goal drought, a
debut effort from Alfie Bowdler and a 40-yard `shot` from Joe Hobson (or was it
a bad cross!!).
Junior Premier League is a really good standard – both on the off the field –
but this Birmingham team are an exception.
